Bandaging Challenging Lower Limb Chronic Oedema with 3M™ Coban™ 2 Layer Bandage System

Chronic oedema varies in severity and the normal contour of the leg may be lost, skin changes may occur, and obesity adds another degree of difficulty for managing the condition. This course, presented by Maree O’Connor, Physiotherapist, and guest speaker Emily Muldoon, Occupational Therapist covers common bandaging challenges encountered with lower leg chronic oedema.

This is an advanced level course for healthcare professionals who have successfully completed a level 1 or lymphoedema course that is recognised by the Australasian Lymphology Association or registered nurses and podiatrists who have obtained further education and training in this area.

Note: It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that the skills acquired in this class are within their scope of practice.

At the end of the course the participant will be able to:

  • Investigate the principles of an ideal bandage system for the management of complex lower limb oedema
  • Explore the application techniques of Coban 2 for complex lower limb chronic oedema
  • Propose solutions for clinician’s bandaging issues for this cohort of clients

Upon completion of the course and successfully passing the course quiz, the student will receive a Certificate of Completion verifying course hours. This course offers 4 contact hours of continuing education.
