Lymphoedema Patient Survey

March is Lymphoedema Awareness Month, and we are inviting you to share your experiences with lymphoedema self-care. Your insights are invaluable and will be collated with responses from other patients to create a feature article for the Lymphoedema Education Solutions March newsletter. This article will highlight real-life experiences to help therapists better understand and support patients in staying engaged with self-care.

We’ve designed a short 10 minute survey that asks about your challenges, strategies, and tips for maintaining your routine. Your responses will be combined with those of other participants to inform the article. Individual answers will remain confidential and be de-identified .

What are the biggest challenges or barriers you face in maintaining your lymphoedema self-care routine?

Prompt: You might consider physical challenges (e.g., swelling, discomfort), emotional factors (e.g., frustration, low motivation), or practical issues (e.g., time, cost, access to supplies).

What strategies, tools, or support have helped you stay motivated and engaged with your self-care?

Prompt: Think about anything that has helped you keep up with your routine—reminders, apps, checklists, support from health professionals, or encouragement from family and friends.

Based on your experience, what advice would you give to someone newly diagnosed to help them stay consistent with self-care?

Prompt: Consider tips that made self-care easier or more effective for you, habits that became routine, or lessons learned along the way.

What could therapists do to better support patients in staying engaged with their lymphoedema self-care?”

Prompt: Think about communication, education, follow-up, encouragement, or ways to make routines easier or more motivating.
